Teensy Update

Had another midwife appointment this morning and sheesh, she had me a little worried there for a minute. On a routine look for fetal heart tones she seemed to be having problems finding anything. Eventually she spoke up and explained that she was confused because she had felt what she was sure was Rachael’s head down near my pelvis but wasn’t picking up any heart tones there (where they should be). So she tried for her pulse again but this time up higher. After a few more feels trying to get her position she was almost positive that her head was indeed where it should be and that the baby was not breech, but she still was only getting a heart rate in areas that would have meant breech presentation.

She ended up sending me down to Ultrasound right after my appointment to make sure baby’s position was okay and all was well. Thankfully, it was. Rachael is head down and while not engaged I’m happy she’s at least presenting correctly! My cervix is at a 1+, almost a 2, and I’m very soft – so these are all good things. I’ve got a while to go as far as dilating but at least I’m not closed!

My next appointment is set for the 10th, 6 days before my due date. I’ll be 39 weeks then and part of me if hoping I’ll dilate this week and that Paula will tell me she’s on her way, LOL. The randomly brought on days where I hurt so badly I can’t stand up for more than 10 seconds without feeling like I’m going to give birth on my kitchen floor are getting worse and worse, and I’m getting more tired and honestly – just more impatient! šŸ™‚ But I’m thankful that everything is going well and that I’m healthy enough to carry full term – all being well is more than I could ask for. šŸ™‚ Even if it does mean a few more sleepless nights and days in panel pants. šŸ˜€

Photo tomorrow.
