Trunk-or-Treat

DSC_0002

This year before the “real Halloween” as the kids call it, we joined Ang and Curt at their ward’s Trunk-or-Treat! It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed seeing their cousins there and playing together. Rae, of course, had a great time being carried around by Danine. Nothing Rae likes more than being carried around. πŸ™‚ I think that girl eats up the attention. She gets most of mine while we’re all home but I think grandma-attention is always more fun. πŸ™‚

Before the Trunk-or-Treat the YW and YM put a carnival on and the kids had a great time winning prizes. Above is Duncan in his Knight costume. πŸ™‚ The actual clothing part of the costume was made by Grammy Victor, the cape by Grandma Bonnie. (Armor, helmet, and sword, etc. all store bought.)

I was kind of bummed out this year by not making the costumes (or like last year, Grammy made the costumes, I didn’t lift a finger!) πŸ™‚ because I really like for them to be homemade. This year I made the decision to just use what we had and add to it because: our potential move was very close, I no longer had a sewing space (no office, Dunc’s new room), and my machine was already put away! Anyway, the kids LOVE their costumes anyway, so I don’t mind. There’s next year…

Onto more photos!

Here’s Olivia, she wanted to be a witch this year and we found a HUGE witch hat for her, cracked me up. πŸ™‚ She looked great! Well… when she wasn’t choosing random non-witchy necklaces and pulling her dark hat over her eyebrows, lol.

Here’s Racha-Pumpkin and her favorite person all night, “Meme” Wagner. πŸ™‚

Face painting! Liv ran off too quick, but I got a shot of hers a little later:

Next, we went fishing…

Even Meme & Rae joined in. (You can’t see from this angle but Dunc was slightly fascinated with the female Batman helping us…) πŸ™‚

Then we waited in line for the doughnut eating game. Olivia was actually pretty excited, she’s waiting in line here with me – I was surprised she wanted to play a game that involved no hands, all faces, and frosting cemented to cheeks…

I think the crowd gathering as the contest ensued was a wee bit to much for the Knight in Plastic Armor – he opted out. (With his doughnut, of course.) πŸ™‚

Our cute little nephew Zachary, behind him is Ashlinn – every photo Cam took of Zachary he glared at Cam, LOL. Such a ninja! πŸ˜€

Livy decided to go back to a game we had all played before, but one that she didn’t win. She went all by herself and played all by herself (essentially a cake walk type game to “Monster Mash”) and she was SO excited when she won – above is the running and “MOOOOMMMM! I WONNNN!” Haha, so sweet. πŸ™‚

Sweet baby Rae. πŸ™‚

All in all we had a fantastic time! Thanks for inviting us, Ang & Curt! πŸ™‚

(More Halloween to come…)
